私のように樹木に神を見るのは、昔のヨーロッパ人もそうでした。
西洋には民族の違いに関わらず、広く樹木信仰が存在しました。
特にゲルマン民族の神は、世界樹ユグラドシルというトネリコの巨木が神となっていました。
こう感じるのは、私だけではありません。
神社には、必ず周囲に森があります。
日本では、樹木には神が宿ると考えられています。
神社には、よく神木が祭られています。
私は、この5月の新緑の樹々に、神を見ました。
