政治家は立派な仕事をしている。
私は、この頃になって戦争時の歴史を学んで、日本の政治家は立派な決断をする人々だと思っていました。
それで古本屋でたまたま見つけたこの本を読むことにしました。
この本は、元首相の菅さんが書いたものです。
内容は、彼が政治家としてやってきた成果を書いているものです。
私は、本を読む前は、このような一般的な情報しか、彼について知りませんでした。
菅氏は、秋田県出身の田舎者のような風貌の人である。東京に出てきてから、26歳の時に「人生を政治にかける」と決めて、ずっと政治家をしている。最初は、市議会議員になりその後、国会議員になっている。
その後、彼は、暗殺された安倍元首相の官房長官を7年半も務めています。その後、暫定的な首相になっています。
しかし、私は、彼が何をしたのか全く知りませんでした。
彼は、自分のアイデアを政府内での障害を乗り越え、法制化にしていった過程を誇らしげに語っています。
彼が関わって法律にした内容については、以下のようなものです。
１．ふるさと納税制度の創設
２．携帯電話の通信料を安くする働きかけ
３、NHK の受信料を安くする法律の制定
４、北朝鮮の船の寄港を制限する法律制定
私は、この本で政治家の彼が何をしたのか知りました。
そして、菅さんはやりがいのある立派な仕事をしてきたな、と思いました。
私は、菅さんにはもっともっと政治家としてがんばってほしいと思いました。
Politicians are doing a great job.
I learned about the history of wartime recently and thought that Japanese politicians were people who made great decisions.
So I decided to read this book that I happened to come across at a used bookstore.
This book was written by former Prime Minister Suga.
It describes the accomplishments he has made as a politician.
Before reading the book, I only knew this general information about him.
Suga is a man from Akita Prefecture who looks like a country boy. After coming to Tokyo, at the age of 26, he decided to “devote his life to politics” and has been a politician ever since. First, he became a city council member and then a member of the Diet.
After that, he served as Chief Cabinet Secretary to the assassinated former Prime Minister Abe for seven and a half years. After that, he became the temporary Prime Minister.
However, I had no idea what he had done.
He proudly talks about the process of overcoming obstacles within the government and turning his ideas into law.
The things he was involved in turning into law are as follows.
- Establishment of the Hometown Tax System
- Working to reduce mobile phone charges
- Passing a law to reduce NHK viewing fees
- Passing a law to restrict port calls by North Korean ships
Through this book, I learned what he has done as a politician.
And I thought that Mr. Suga has done a worthwhile and impressive job.
I want Suga to work even harder as a politician.
