私は、先週、現在の農家は馬鹿じゃできないと思いました。
私は浜田農場主からカブつくりの話を聞きました。場所は、西部小の近くです。
鎌ケ谷市の農業振興課が、農業ボランティアの養成講座を開いたので、その第一回目の講座に、私は、参加しました。
濵田農場の農場主は、濵田光一氏でした。彼の年齢は、６５歳ぐらいだと思います。
恰好は、農家のおじさんでした。
しかし、農業に対する取り組みは、農家のおじさんではありませんでした。
彼は、現在の農場を作るまでにいろいろな試行錯誤を繰り返したという事です。
２つの革新が、ありました。
１つは、美味しい野菜を作ることに特化し、肥料を改良したそうです。
肥料は、化学肥料を使わず、自家製の有機肥料にしたそうです。
有機肥料は、EMと魚かすを混ぜて作るということです。EMとは、有用微生物のことです。
魚のうまみ成分が野菜に入るので美味しいのだろうと言っていました。
これで全国野菜ソムリエ大賞の銀賞に２回なったそうです。
２つ目は、販売方法を直接販売にしたことです。
まず、カブは、８月９月を覗いて一年中出荷できるので、これを作ることにしたそうです。
このカブは市場を通さず、近所のスーパーマーケットで直接販売しているそうです。
息子さんは、イチジク農家となり同じように繁盛していました。
私は、現在の農家は馬鹿じゃできないと思いました。
Smart Farmer
I thought last week that the current farmer is not foolish.
I heard about how to cultivate turnips from the owner of Hamada Farm. The location is near Seibu Elementary School.
Kamagaya City’s Agricultural Promotion Division held a training course for agricultural volunteers, so I participated in the first class.
The owner of Hamada Farm was Mr. Koichi Hamada. I think he is around 65 years old.
He looked like a poor-looking elder farmer.
But his commitment to farming was not an ordinary poor -looking farmer.
He did a lot of trial and error before building his current farm.
There were two innovations.
One is specializing in making delicious vegetables.
So he has improved the fertilizer.
He has made homemade organic fertilizer.
He never uses the chemical fertilizer for cultivation.
Organic fertilizer is made by mixing EM and fish meal. EM stands for beneficial microorganisms.
He said turnips must be delicious because the umami ingredients of the fish are in the vegetables.
This vegetable has been awarded the silver medal of the national vegetable sommelier award.
The second is that he changed the sales method to direct sales.
At first, he decided to make turnips, because he can shipp all year round except for August and September.
Instead of taking his turnips to the market, he brought them directly to the supermarket and sold them directly.
His son became a fig farmer and was prospering as well.
I thought that today’s farmers can’t be stupid.
