これを趣味とする人は、BCL（ Broadcast Listening ）Listenerと言われました。
日本でも１９７０年代から１９８０年代まで流行しました。
私は、普通のAMラジオのスイッチが壊れたので、同じ型の中古のラジオをヤフオクで探しました。
そうしたら、このような昔のBCLラジオがたくさん売られていました。
懐かしいラジオです。私は、当時は、とても高価なラジオですから、とても買えませんでした。これは、中国製で安かったので、私も懐かしくて、買ってみました。
中古のBCLラジオは、いまでも割と高く売っています。高いのは、当時を懐かしんで、海外放送を聞く老人が、多いからです。
この種のラジオは、どうしても雑音が入ります。
しかし、パソコンや、スマホのアプリなら、海外放送は、明瞭に聞けます。今では、海外放送をBCLラジオで聞く必要はありません。
インターネットのおかげで、良い時代になったと実感しました。
Overseas shortwave radio that is no longer needed
This is a radio that receives international shortwave broadcasts, called BCL (Broadcast Listening) radio.

Old BCL radios are still selling at a relatively high price. Because there are many old people who miss the time and listen to overseas broadcasts by this radio.
This kind of radio is inevitably noisy.
However, if you use a computer or smartphone app, you can clearly listen to overseas broadcasts. Now you don’t have to listen to overseas broadcasts on BCL radio.
Thanks to the internet, I realized that it was a good time.
